Whether you are the receptionist in the front, the hygienist at the chair, or an assistant in the clinic, making an appointment is a vital function that everyone needs to know. As a matter of fact, good scheduling is one of the most important skills in any office. Everybody needs to be cross-trained because the appointment book is the road map that sets the tone for the entire day.

This is a 4 hour virtual, one-on-one course, using TeamViewer as the screen share platform. For the software applications portion of the course, students have the choice of using either Dentrix, EagleSoft,OpenDental or SoftDent.

Prerequisite: Knowledge of dental software data entry and basic dental terminology.

***Can be combined and taken in conjunction with our other administrative courses to complete the Dental Office Administrative Certificate Program.

Some of the fundamentals of scheduling are using time trials, making appointment blocks, maximizing RDA and DDS time, and booking to goal. Along with knowing how to navigate the software system, phone skills, and good etiquette are also needed in order to guide patients to the desired outcome.
